Many TA members find that the training they do can take away they stress that they gain from their job in every day life.  Being a part of the TA can be quite demanding but many people also use it as an escape route from all the pressures that they may encounter in their jobs.  Giving people many tasks to conscentrate on means that they totally forget about anything going on in their workplace.

People who are also TA employees are usually widely regarded as being more committed, dependable, confident, reliable and more responsible in the workplace which means that any other skills that they gain from the TA makes them a great asset to have in any workplace.  Having membership of the TA on your CV is a major advantage in todays's competitive job market.

Every TA member has access to a Continuous Professional Development Plan and Personal Development Record.  These combined can help you develop your own particular skills and then translate them into universally recognised civilian qualifications or even a diploma or an NVQ.

As a member of the TA, you'll be paid for every day that you serve , even when you are training.  If you achieve the required standards, you can also recieve an annual tax-free bonus which is called a bounty.

If you have to travel quite a distance then the TA pays its members a travel allowance which will cover the cost of travelling to and from TA centres.  Your uniform is also free and the TA pays for any food which is consumed when you are on training exercises.
